The grand exhibition scheduled over a period of three days is aimed towards helping visitors update themselves with the latest trends in the eyewear industry

The next edition of SILMO is scheduled to happen this year in September 2016. SILMO is one of the biggest events of the optical trade community. It is an excellent platform for networking and identifying the latest trends in the eyewear industry.

The 2015 event was characterised by an extremely positive business climate and a rise in visitor numbers recognising the platform as the optical industry’s flagship store.

This year’s event is based effectively around four complementary categories – fashion, health, innovation and training. The goal is to combine business and creativity, constantly seeking to provide meaningful services for attending professionals, visitors and exhibitors alike.

The key will be to ensure synergy with optics and eyewear industry requirements in order to ensure better growth for the industry.

They will be further divided into twelve clearly identified segments, enhanced by an updated setting. In each area, exhibition highlights will enable professionals to explore new markets, to seek information and training, stay on the pulse of trends and innovations, exchange and share good practices, etc.

Silmo D’Or Awards will be an important highlight of the event. Belgian designer Alain Gille, will be chairing the judging panel for the awards.

He is expected to bring an authentic and straight-forward point of view, one that was recognised in 2012 by Biennale Intérieur, the international design event in Courtrai which voted him ‘Designer of the Year’.

Brands from all over the globe are expected to participate in the Silmo D’Or Awards giving visitors a chance to familiarise themselves with the latest trends in the optical industry.
