Marc Jacobs presents its new sunglasses for Spring/Summer 2013. Inspiration taken from Optical art movement of the 1960s is evident throughout the designer’s new collection. The new models have a bold personality which reflects the brand’s chic and unconventional style.
Dedicated to contemporary women and real trendsetters, the new proposals reinterpret, with a glamorous touch, the brand’s iconic patterns, which hit the catwalk at Marc Jacobs’s Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show. These new Optical-inspired motifs, whether they are interpreted in profiles highlighting the frames or in clean, simple lines, always feature interplays of contrasting colors and bold color combinations, lending these models a modern twist.
A vintage-chic personality: this oversize, square-shaped ultra-flat model strikes the perfect balance between a contemporary spirit and timeless elegance. It features contrasting colors on the front and temples, with sophisticated profiles recalling the theme of Marc Jacobs’ Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show, as well as edgy color combinations: white/black, black/white, beige/white and brown/white (mod. Retro-future: these perfectly round sunglasses have a vintage-inspired shape and a unique thick double bridge. This model comes in two versions, featuring a striped front in tones of white/grey and beige/white or with contrasting profiles on the temples, available in shades of brown/white and black/white (mod. MJ 502/S).
The new models will be available at Marc Jacobs boutiques, high-end opticians and quality department stores from May 2013.
