The new Marc Jacobs Sunglasses for Spring/Summer 2013 : A glamorous and easy-to-wear personality

marc-jacobs-ss-2013
Following the fantastical Marc Jacobs Winter 12 Collection and the chic Crystal sunglasses seen with luxurious oversized hats on that icy blue runway, the unique and glamorous look of the eyewear collection returns in a new easy-to-wear version with the latest models created for Spring/Summer 2013.

The new models maintain that sense of sparkle with an understated twist: a single crystal that illuminates the temple tips and denotes a unique and individual style.

The round-shaped acetate model features bold volumes that are balanced with translucent shades, in line with the colour palette of Marc Jacobs’ 2013 ready-to-wear and accessories collections: olive, brown, red and ochre, perfectly combined with gray lenses.

The new sunglasses (mod. MJ 472/S) will be available at Marc Jacobs boutiques, high-end opticians and quality department stores worldwide from January 2013. The Marc Jacobs collection of sunglasses and optical frames is produced and distributed by the Safilo Group.

Paul Smith optical frames: Inspired by the ’20s and ’50s

Paul Smith optical frames: Inspired by the ’20s and ’50s

The new Paul Smith collection focuses on strong shapes from the ’20s and ’50s. Oversized, rounded black frames look to the elegant style of Audrey Hepburn, while vintage inspired brow-bar frames in tortoise shell and dark oak take inspiration from the Gatsby period of the late 1920s.

harlyn_bordeaux_aThe colours are warm and more neutral for this 2013 collection, thus helping to create a gentle, elegant aesthetic. This season, the signature quote is both optimistic and upbeat. ‘Good Day Sunshine’ is paired with a sun-shaped plaque inlaid on the inside temple of the frames, providing the hidden twist that Paul Smith always exudes.
