FGX International has partnered with Bollywood star, Sonakshi Sinha to be the face of Foster Grant Signature

FGX International, a leading eyewear designer, marketer and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Essilor International, unveiled Foster Grant Signature, its premier sunglasses and optical frames collection to the press and optical trade community in Mumbai in mid-February. The Foster Grant Signature collection has been designed to target both the male and female consumer with an assortment that combines classic American styles with timeless panache and a contemporary edge that will appeal to the modern Indian consumer.

FGX International also announced it has partnered with Bollywood star, Sonakshi Sinha to be the face of Foster Grant Signature. With over 85 years of celebrity heritage in the United States they are delighted to be teaming up with Bollywood’s finest.

To honour the occasion FGX International held two events on the same day in Mumbai. The first, a daytime press event with Sonakshi Sinha which attracted more than 70 media outlets and resulted in millions of impressions in a variety of mainstream, entertainment and business publications. Then in the evening, FGX International held a dinner for the optical trade community where Sonakshi addressed the crowd and Matthew Panucci, EVP International Markets, FGX International, presented thorough insights into the Indian eyewear category. With a market growth predicted at 22 per cent Compound Annual Growth Rate and expected to rapidly reach US$1B, there is a huge opportunity for Foster Grant Signature and the optical trade to partner and tap into this growing category.

All the guests at the Mumbai event had front row seats to watch the unveiling of the Foster Grant Signature collection of both sunglasses and optical frames with an exciting fashion show. The show expressed the collections’ versatility to address the different usage occasions that the modern Indian consumer experiences. The collection looked great on both the men and women, and went with every dress wear occasion from elegant India wear to casual wear to professional office clothing. FGX International will be supporting the roll out of Foster Grant Signature with significant consumer marketing support, and of course the collaboration with Brand Ambassador Sonakshi Sinha.
