Three months after officially announcing the cooperation, Claudia Schiffer and Rodenstock presented their very first collection ‘Claudia Schiffer by Rodenstock’ at the Opti 2014 trade fair in Munich on 10th Jan, 2014.
Creative Director Claudia takes her inspiration from the sixties and seventies with the designs of the collection reflecting Claudia´s understated and modern yet timeless style, as well as her love of vintage. The collection encompasses eight sunglasses and nine optical styles each in four varying colourways. They refresh vintage shapes with a modern colour accent, ranging from shades of transparent colour such as rose pink to elegant tortoiseshell, classic black, burgundy and dark green.
“I have always loved sunglasses and wear them almost every day. Now I came to the point where I didn’t want to compromise anymore.
There are lots of glasses on the market that look great, but actually the quality is poor; not only the materials but especially the lenses, which are not good for your eyes. I felt it was important to work with the best lenses, as well as trying to create beautiful frames. As I need to wear glasses when watching movies, it was a natural step for me to create an eyewear collection including opticals,” says Claudia Schiffer.
