The 29th China International Optics Fair (CIOF) 2016 concluded from the 7th to 9th of September, 2016 after a fruitful three day event presented the latest in worldwide. Chinese cutting-edge products and technology was also presented to buyers from all over the world at the China International Exhibition Centre, Beijing.
CIOF 2016 was endorsed by The Ministry of Commerce of China as one of their 108 recognised distinguished exhibitions, China National Light Industry Council as one of the best 10 exhibitions in China and by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce.
Brand promotion and advocation of high technologies deployment were the themes of CIOF 2016. The show was proudly accompanied by 766 exhibitors in total, including 212 international exhibitors and 554 Chinese exhibitors, with 261 global brands and over 1,000 Chinese brands respectively from 23 countries and regions on display. And procurement-wise, CIOF 2016 also saw a strong league of international buyers from 66 countries and regions.
In the mega gross exhibition area of over 70,000 square metres, there were Procurement Zones at China International Exhibition Centre’s Administration Building (Seminar Rooms), the adjacent Radisson Blu Hotel Beijing and the Grand Metro Park Hotel for buyers to place purchasing orders onsite. In other words, buyers and the media enjoyed the convenience of visiting all Chinese and international exhibitors at one go, viewing all the famous brand names simultaneously.
CIOF 2016 displayed and demonstrated the latest optical products, ranging from spectacle frames, sunglasses, lenses to contact lenses, from visual test equipment, machinery and raw materials for making spectacle frames and lenses, to instruments for optometry and ophthalmology, even extending their specialties to the realm of low vision test equipment and optical software.
With utmost excitement, CIOF 2016 also warmly welcomed the participation of Luxottica in the 29th edition as a seasoned CIOF exhibitor by expanding 60 percent more exhibition area than last year. Safilo, another forerunner in the top-tier eyewear market, the second largest eyewear manufacturer, was also among the distinguished veterans this year.
Other selected few designer brand participants included 3.1 Phillip Lim, AM Eyewear, Boston Club, DITA, ic! berlin, Linda Farrow Gallery, Lindberg, Minima, Moscot, Mykita, USH, Wolfgang Proksch, Yohji Yamamoto, etc. While in the contact lens brands, participation came in from names like Interojo, Woehlk, Zeiss, etc. and machinery and in equipment brands there were Canon, Nidek, Norville Autoflow, Optotech, Satisloh, Topcon, et al.
