This year, Silmo is making significant changes in order to boost its appeal and to continue to stand out as a must-visit gathering
Come 26th September 2014 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, the international trade fair for optics and eyewear in Paris will be gearing up for action. Organised by optics manufacturers belonging to the SILMO Association, the Silmo trade show features exceptional know-how thats made available to optics professionals.
From 26 to 29 September 2014, Silmo will deploy a whole host of solutions to motivate sales teams in businesses throughout the optics and eyewear sector and enable participants to meet clients, recruit prospects, network and get better informed. The event with its package of information points, open forum events and meeting areas will strengthen a solid network of professionals who share the same goals.
Forward planning, supporting companies in their development projects … Silmo has been doing this since it was established in Oyonnax, France in 1967 in the framework of the SIP: The International Spectacle Trade Plastics and Optician’s Equipment Show. The renaming happened only in 1970 when spectacle manufacturers gained independence and named their show ‘Silmo’: The International Optical Trade Show.
This year visitors can look forward to some significant changes in Silmo’s offering. The need to closely monitor economic changes, integrate market developments and meet the demands of both exhibitors and visitors is what has prompted such a move. So you will be happy to find a schedule more in sync with visitors as well as a more extensive programme of events. A complete restructuring of the layout is also in place – close to a thousand companies would occupy an exhibition area of some 80,000 sq.metres. In order to enable visitors to save time, Silmo has reorganised the way industry segments are sited, even adding new categories.
A carpet of different services will be rolled out to exhibitors and visitors – a list that includes the Silmo Academy, Silmo d’Or, Silmo Fashion Style, Link by Silmo and more. Watch out for the Silmo d’Or, introduced in 1994 to award the technological innovation and creativity of the profession.
So mark your calendars for this four-day event and head out to Paris for what aptly demonstrates the industry’s creative and innovative know-how.
