Focused area for leading fashion brands, first sight of new technologies in the region and Retail Theatre among new attractions as Dubai World Trade Centre builds on Middle East growth
Dubai becomes the focal point of the $90 billion eyecare industry again later this year, as the 16th edition of Vision-X opens doors to welcome a big gathering of exhibitors and visitors from across the Middle East, North Africa and around the world.
Vision-X 2015, the region’s biggest optical health, eyecare and eyewear business event, will showcase the latest international trends, technologies and designs for international buyers and sellers at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 6-8 December, 2015.
Last year’s show attracted more MEA region buyers than any other leading optical event, with more than 250 brands from over 26 countries and 4,268 unique visitors descending on DWTC for the three-day show. All the indications are that this year’s show will be even bigger and better.
In order to support the business done at the exhibition, DWTC has partnered with Outsmart Marketing to deliver pre-booked appointments at Vision-X 2015, where suppliers and buyers will be strategically matched to offer a more efficient business trip, and more time to make essential new business connections.
“The eyewear market in the UAE alone is valued at $480 million and in the previous four years alone around 800 optical retail outlets opened across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions & Events Management, DWTC. “The industry recognises this region as an increasingly important growth market, and Vision-X has become a vital platform for international manufacturers and suppliers to capture their share.”
In addition to the main marketing campaign, a professional social media agency will be working with brands at Vision-X 2015 to ensure their unique business messages reach each priority market across MEA in the months prior to the show.
Vision-X 2015 will offer a range of new features to generate additional buzz. Drawing an international line-up of speakers and supported by Eyezone magazine, the three-day accredited Vision-X Opticare Conference is a must attend for industry professionals, who will get a close-up view and analysis of the latest healthcare topics and techniques.
Underlining Dubai’s position as second only to London in luxury retail, the exhibition is hugely popular with the world’s top fashion houses and designers, with a star-studded line-up of the optical industry’s biggest names rolling out dedicated eyewear lines. The Style Atelier area will provide a dedicated area for leading niche fashion brands from Europe and the USA at a certain price point.
Elsewhere, the Vision-X VP Awards will celebrate the best products in the business. A joint initiative between Vision-X and Vision Plus magazine, the awards will see winners judged by retailers and practitioners announced at an opening night gala party – a glittering evening of celebration, recognition and networking.
Finally, the all-new Retail Theatre will deliver regional businesses with an exclusive forum to help business owners and managers improve their operations by presenting the latest in retail technology and giving advice on social media best practice, frame fashion trends and retail intelligence. This year’s event will also feature essential presentations on the latest best practice from around the world and real initiatives to build profits and the opportunity for one to one consultations with international optical business experts.
